Utio! Wakanele is an a priori constructed language inspired by Japanese and Hawaiian, featuring simple syllable structures, few phonemes, and a predominantly isolating grammar. Its writing system is best described as an alphasyllabary.

Interesting Features: Nouns are differentiated by animacy, affecting corresponding articles and case markers. Number is not usually indicated, but may be done by reduplicating the final vowel-consonant-vowel combination on animate nouns only (cf. dog : dogs :: uiti : uitiiti).
